A mixt. of different liqs. is vaporised by one or more heater tubes in parallel across a housing face, and each surrounded loosely by a plastics sleeve through whose apertures evolved vapours can pass, but not lips. The evolved vapours rise through transverse sepn. floors made of material with the same properties as the lower plastics sleeves. Vapours are cooled at these floors, in amts. related to their different condensation temps., and can be drawn off separately for use. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can provide air-conditioning for passenger vehicle. Energy for thermal (rather than mechanical) compression is provided by waste heat in exhaust gas or circulating engine coolant.
