<p>PDP in which discharge voltage can be dropped and which can be manufactured in a regular atmosphere is provided. PDP is provided with a pair of substrate structures which are oppositely arranged through a discharge space. One substrate structure is provided with a plurality of display electrodes on a substrate, a dielectric layer covering the display electrodes and a protection film formed on the dielectric layer. The substrate structure is also provided with a plurality of address electrodes crossing the display electrodes. Crystal powder which includes at least one among SrO, CaO and BaO and whose median diameter is not less than 0.5µm is dispersed on the protection film.</p>
