Table advance mechanism for machine tools

A table (16) is mounted to slide on a machine bed (14) and fixes the workpiece (W) on it. It has a nut fixing area (17) projecting down and a right and left pair of nuts (18A,18B) fixed on the side surface of the fixing area. Two feed spindle shafts (20A,20B) are mounted so that they extend horizontally to engage in the nuts. A drive unit simultaneously drives the spindle shafts to move the table. Gearwheels mounted at the end of each spindle shaft engage in a pinion. The drive unit can be designed to drive the pinion to move the table.
