<p>A monitor 100 is mounted on a machine such as a motor, generator, pump or transformer, and senses, stores and processes information concerning the health, status, condition and working life of the machine. The monitor may include sensors for motor vibration 126, magnetic flux 124, frame temperature 120, speed, load and stator temperature, as well as an ambient temperature sensor 122, and may also be connected to external sensors. The acquired data are processed by a microcomputer 170 which provides output signals through an infra-red communications port 154 to a base computer which may also be coupled to other similar machine monitors.</p> |
