COTTON GROWTH REGULATOR

Control of terminal growth of cotton plants resulting in improved productivity is achieved by treatment with 1) a protoporphyrinogen oxidase enzyme- inhibiting (PPO-inhibiting) compound, 2) a harvest growth regulating (HGR) compound, 3) a cell membrane disruption (CMD) compound or 4) an amino acid synthesis inhibiting (AAS-inhibiting) compounds. Of particular interest is the use of carfentrazone-ethyl and certain metabolites thereof for regulating growth of cotton plants.
