The device (10) includes a positioning part (16) for the top valve bag in the bundle (12), which grips the bag and moves the cross-direction edge of the valve against a fixed stop (15). The valve bags are laid flat in a bundle on top of a lifting table (11) and then tilted into a suspended transport position using a feed device pivotable about a horizontal axis above the table and extending parallel to the bag length edge, for transfer to a valve opening and transport device, so that they can be transported whilst the valve is being open.
