A double tapered roller of a scroll thrust bearing formed so that it does not produce an edge load applied by a load at both ends of a sectional linear part of a tapered surface, provides an appropriate stress due to contact with a bearing race, and used as a rolling element of the thrust bearing provided in a portion which makes a relative scroll motion, comprising a tapered body having a pair of tapered surfaces (Ra, Rb) which are matched coaxially and have bottom parts connected to each other, wherein a crowning is applied to the entire surface of the tapered surfaces (Ra, Rb), whereby an edge load does not occur at both ends of the sectional linear part of the tapered surfaces (Ra, Rb), and the maximum contact stress on a top side can also be suppressed to a low value within an allowable range. <IMAGE> |
