The crosscut yarn end preparation involves introducing yarn end into a yarn end preparator (1) and the yarn end is prepared by a gas flow. A relative motion between yarn (7) and yarn end preparator takes place in axial direction of the introduced yarn end. The yarn end is pneumatically inserted to the yarn end preparator. An independent claim is also included for a textile machine, particularly rotor spinning machine, which has yarn end separator for preparing crosscut yarn end.
