STARTING DEVICE FOR VEHICULAR ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device for a vehicular engine that enables both of securing prompt startability and reduction of battery load.SOLUTION: A starting device for a vehicular engine includes: an engine 1 serving as an internal combustion engine having a crank shaft 9; an ACG starter 27 that functions as a power generator rotating synchronously with the crank shaft 9 during an operation of the engine 1 and functions as a motor to enable cranking of the crank shaft 9 at start of the engine 1; and a start control section 60 for driving the ACG starter 27 by using electric power of a battery 70 to execute start control of the engine 1. The engine start control section 60 executes the start control without swinging back for performing only normal rotation operation of the crank shaft 9 when the engine 1 is started while warming-up of the engine 1 is completed, and executes the start control with the swinging back for performing reverse rotation operation of the crank shaft 9 only by a predetermined angle and then performing the normal rotation operation when the engine 1 is started while the warming-up of the engine 1 is not completed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
