PURPOSE: A business system for managing a retail store visits and the method for processing the data in the system are provided to manage a sales man by constructing a host computer system and a handy terminal. CONSTITUTION: A system between a host computer(1) and a handy terminal is established. The basic information, such as the information of the retail store, the product and the sales man, and a visit schedule by each area, business type and sales man, is inputted into the host computer(1). A bar code is attached to the store that will be cared of(4). Before visiting the store in the day(6), the sales man receives the information of the store and the product via a handy terminal(2-1). When the sales man arrives at the store, he inputs the arrival time into a handy terminal(2-2) by scanning the bar code into the terminal(2-2). The bar codes of the products exhibited in the store are scanned, and thereby the information of the products is inputted thereinto(7). By scanning the bar code, a departure time is inputted thereinto. The data stored in a handy terminal(2-3) is transmitted to the host computer(1).
