A calculation process is controlled based on the workflow structure of the calculation process to automatically execute calculation packets at earliest points in time permitted by a defined rule set. The calculation process is electronically re-structured into the workflow structure based on the calculation packets and rule sets. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a computer-readable medium; and (2) a computerized optimizing device.
