1. A method of noise power estimation comprising:
receiving a data packet that includes a plurality of samples from a periodic sequence; determining an absolute value of each of the plurality of samples, and determining a first expectation value based on an average of squaring the absolute value of each of the plurality of samples; determining a power difference between two or more of the plurality of samples and determining a second expectation value based on an average of squaring the determined power difference; and estimating an average noise power based on the first and second expectation values.
