PURPOSE:To attempt the prevention of an engine stall when a clutch pedal is quickly released by providing an assisting mechanism which adjusts oscillating speed of a release folk in the direction of clutch engagement to slow speed when the operation on the clutch pedal is released. CONSTITUTION:When the operation on a clutch pedal 1 is quickly released, a push to a release bearing 8 to the right by a release folk 3 is released, then the release folk 3 is subjected to torque of right turn by the force of a diaphragm spring 9. In this case, the cylinder section 16a of an actuator 16 in an assisting mechanism 29 is in a position indicated in a dotted line, and a valve 17 in an open condition whereby the cylinder 16a moves quickly for the first time. When the valve 17 is closed, however, as air in an upper chamber is taken only through an orifice 20, the movement of the cylinder section 16a is rapidly decreased in speed, thereby engaging a clutching mechanism 14 adequately.
