METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OCCURRENCE OF DUST OF MOLDED ARTICLE OF ALUMINA FIBER AND MOLDED ARTICLE OF INORGANIC FIBER

PURPOSE:To obtain a molded article having greatly controlling effect on occurrence of dust by adding a dust occurrence inhibitor to a molded article of alumina fiber. CONSTITUTION:A molded article of inorganic fiber such as alumina fiber, alumina.silica fiber, silica fiber or zirconia fiber is impregnated or supplied with a dust occurrence inhibitor such as one obtained by dissolving or dispersing an inhibitor of a surfactant prepared by introducing a nitrogen-containing hydrophilic group to an epoxy-modified silicone oil emulsion and/or a fatty acid ester into water and dried or the dust occurrence inhibitor is passed from the surface to the back of the molded article of the inorganic fiber or is sprayed upon and penetrated into the molded article under pressure and the molded article of the inorganic fiber is impregnated or supplied with the inhibitor to give a molded article of inorganic fiber (molded article of alumina fiber) having greatly controlling effect on occurrence of dust. The molded article of alumina fiber is a dry molded article of crystalline alumina fiber of mullite or alumina containing A2O3 and SiO2.
