FIELD: methods and machines for pulp washing. SUBSTANCE: method is embodied with operation of washing machine and includes the following stages. Pulp for washing is directed to one end of drum, then pulp is wetted with washing liquid at least in one position when it is passed through drum. Pulp for washing is directed between rotating drum and rotating squeeze roller located inside the drum. At least either drum or squeeze roller is perforated. Pulp for washing, during its passing through drum, is subjected to two or more squeezing operations between drum and squeeze roller. Treated material is moved to space between drum and squeeze roller during rotation of drum and squeeze roller, along spiral trajectory round squeeze roller, from drum inlet end to drum outlet end.
