PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail attaching/detaching tool for a passenger conveyer capable of easily attaching/detaching a moving handrail at maintenance work of the handrail engaged with a handrail guiding rail. SOLUTION: This attaching/detaching tool 14 is composed of a grip portion 15, a shaft portion 16 orthogonal to a longitudinal side of the grip portion 15 and fixed on the grip portion 15 at one end, a bent portion 17 formed by bending the other end of the shaft portion 16 and orthogonal to a longitudinal side of the shaft portion 16, and a projecting portion 19 formed at a tip end portion of the bent portion 17 and projecting out of a surface in an opposite grip portion 15 side of the bent portion 17. Therefore, one attaching/detaching tool 14 is used for maintenance work of the moving handrail, and by using the bent portion 17, the tip end portion, and the projecting portion 19, inserting the attaching/detaching tool 14 between the handrail guiding rail and the moving handrail, expanding the width of the moving handrail, and attaching/detaching work of the moving handrail such as fitting/removing to/from a handrail guiding rail edge portion can be carried out in a small working space and less labor.
