A device for perforating, in particular for supporting a perforator during perforation of cards or sheets, permits the insertion thereof in notebooks or ring binders for loose sheets after the perforating operation. This device has a folded plate body or two superposed plates which contain, in the folded edge or connecting edge, a multiplicity of cutouts or notches into which a front perforating portion of a perforator can be inserted. A card to be perforated or a sheet to be perforated is inserted between the two plates until one edge of the card or sheet is accessible through the openings. When the end of the perforator carrying out the perforation is inserted in the openings, the card can be perforated in relation to the exposed edge portions.
