The fuel control device includes an air flow sensor for detecting and producing an output representing intake air amount flowing through an intake passage of the engine. An operating sensor detects and produces an output representing an operating state of the engine. A controller calculates and produces an output signal representing the optimum value of fuel supply amount in accordance with the outputs of the sensors. A fuel injector controlled by the intake passage of the engine, and a temperature sensor detects the temperature of the intake air.
