<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make equipment controllable by imparting commands quickly and precisely to the equipment through the use of the gesture of a part of a user's body, such as a hand or a wrist. <P>SOLUTION: At least one time progress signal which represents muscular movement associated with the creation of gesture is acquired and at least one parameter value created by the signal is determined to create a gesture recognition command. This method includes a step for time-dividing the time-evolving signal (14) into a plurality of subframes (SF1, SF2, etc.), a step for determining at least one parameter value (Psfi) produced by a signal over at least a part of the subframes or at least one subframe, and a step for expressing the parameter value as a component of vector (S) along a dimension allocated to the subframe (SFi).
