PURPOSE:To handle easily picture data with an electronic computer taking 1 byte or its integral number of multiple as a unit, by constituting a picture with square segments taking 8-bit or its integral number of multiples as one side for processing the segments. CONSTITUTION:A picture storage main body 1 storing picture data of one page is constituted with square segments 2 comprising 8X8 of picture elements 3, and an address of the segment writing/reading out of the main body 1 is stored in a segment address register 8. The data making write/readout to the segment of the address designated with the register 8 is stored in a segment buffer 10, the line number of the buffer 10 or another number and the designated content of the line or the other number are stored in a matrix number and matrix register 9. The data of 8-bit or its integral number of multiple is written to a line or each bit corresponding to the other number of the buffer 10, or the corresponding line of the buffer 10 or other bit is read out according to the content of designation of the register 9 by means of the selecting means, allowing to convert the rotation and longitudinal and lateral sides of the picture in easy way. |
