PURPOSE:To roll either of materials having large and small deformation resistances by fitting freely slidably journal boxes supporting another rolling roll to two sets of window parts provided at varied phases to rotary journal boxes. CONSTITUTION:The work roll 12 is pulled out by passing the roll integrally with the journal boxes 14 through the windows 10, 3 in the longitudinal direction to exchange the roll 12 during rolling. The rotary journal boxes 8 are rotated at a prescribed angle around the intermediate roll shaft by means of pins 19 by the operation of a prescribed piston rod in the case of executing rolling by offsetting the work roll 11. The exchange of the roll 12 through the window 13 is possible in this case as well.
