PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engaging device easily and positively engageable with a prestressing bar in a single operation. SOLUTION: This engaging device 1 comprises a male cone 10 provided with an internal thread on the bore surface, having a conical taper at the outer periphery and circumferentially divided in a plurality of parts; a sleeve 20 provided with an inner peripheral conical taper on which the male cone 10 abuts; an axial spring 30 for energizing the male cone in a diameter reducing direction; and a pan ring 40 for transmitting the energizing force of the spring 30 to the male cone 10. The engaging device 1 is engaged with the prestressing bar inserted in the direction of an arrow mark 14, in a single operation.
