N - (2 - Tosyloxy - ethyl) - 10,11 - dihydro-5H- dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-imine may be prepared by reaction of 10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d]- cyclohepten-5-one with ethanolamine to yield N - (2 - hydroxyethyl) - 10,11 - dihydro-5H- dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-6-imine followed by tosylation of the free hydroxy group. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds I show neuropsychotropic, antitussive and diuretic properties when administered orally or parenterally with the usual excipients. |
