A vibration damper comprises external tightening plates (1, 2) between which are located at least three packages (3) of alternating elastic-damping (4) and metallic (5) plates. Between the packages (3) are mounted intermediate tightening plates (6). Tightening bolts (8) are mounted in through openings (7) along the height of the damper. The tightening bolts (8) are oriented in mutually opposite directions and each of them is connected by means of a screw joint (9) with the intermediate tightening plate (6) which is the most distant from the external tightening plate (1, 2) in which is located the head (10) of the tightening bolt (8).
