Disclosed are an image signal processing method and system, comprising: performing, via a first imaging unit, a photosensing operation on a visible light wave section of an optical signal in a region to be imaged to generate a first image signal comprising color information; performing, via a second imaging unit, the photosensing operation on at least an infrared wave section of the optical signal in the region to be imaged to generate a second image signal comprising luminance level information; and synthesizing the first image signal and the second image signal to generate a synthesized image having the color information and the luminance level information. The invention can generate a synthesized image having many advantages, and can improve a problem of a low luminance level and satisfy a requirement of defogging for a security system for monitoring an ambient environment.
