PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent-type coating composition for a metallic pipe with a small environmental load, which can, without adversely affecting various functional demands for coating materials for metallic pipes, inhibit solvent odors and abbreviate drying time; and a metallic pipe coated with the same.SOLUTION: The provided coating composition for water-contacted portions of a metallic pipe includes a resin and a solvent, wherein the solvent does not include, as a main component, a water-insoluble, low-volatility solvent (a), but includes at least 25 wt.% of a water-soluble solvent (b), and includes no water. The coating composition preferably includes at least 3 wt.% of a high-volatility solvent (c). Also provided is a metallic pipe wherein water-contacted portions thereof are coated with the coating composition for water-contacted portions of a metallic pipe. |
