PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system and an operation method therefor capable of maintaining oxygen saturation calculation accuracy even if light quantity control is performed for a semiconductor light source.SOLUTION: An endoscope system 10 includes a B-LED 20b, a band restriction part 21, an imaging sensor 48, a target exposure amount determination part 67, and an exposure control part 68. The B-LED 20b emits blue light B. The band restriction part 21 generates measurement light Bfor measuring oxygen saturation from the blue light. The imaging sensor 48 images an observation object to which the measurement light Bis applied. The target exposure amount determination part 67 determines a target exposure amount in a blue pixel of the imaging sensor 48 when control to change a light emission quantity is performed for the B-LED 20b. The exposure control part 68 controls the B-LED 20b or the imaging sensor 48 so that an exposure amount in a blue pixel of the imaging sensor 48 reaches the target exposure amount. |
