An insulating panel for mounting on a surface of a structural element of a building. The panel comprises an inner layer of insulating material for mounting on the surface of the structural element, and an outer layer of insulating material. The inner layer and outer layer are respectively arranged such that an air gap is formed within the panel between an inside surface of the inner layer and an inside surface of the outer layer, and such that air can pass between the air gap and the exterior of the panel via a peripheral edge of the panel. The surface heat transfer coefficient of the inner layer is greater than the surface heat transfer coefficient of the outer layer. |
