PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to suppress a case where a user sees unnecessary messages in a portable terminal that operates in cooperation with an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 50 operating in cooperation with an MFP (image forming apparatus) 10, when detecting approach to the MFP 10, displays a message screen (including "do you perform authentication processing on an MFP in front of you?") on a touch panel 75 of the portable terminal 50. The portable terminal 50 subsequently hides the message that has been displayed on the touch panel 75 provided that the strength of a radio wave for short-range radio communication from the MFP 10 is equal to or less than a predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
