摘要 In this position detection device for an elevator, an exciting coil (281) and a detecting coil (291) are arranged with a detection region (15) interposed therebetween. When seen from the detection region (15), a first test coil (311) is disposed on the exciting coil (281) side and a second test coil (312) is disposed on the detecting coil (291) side. In a second fixing failure diagnosis mode, a closed circuit including the first and second test coils (311, 312) is formed, and the magnetic field for generating induced electromotive force in the detecting coil (291) is generated in the second test coil (312) by the induced electromotive force in the first test coil (311) generated by the alternating-current magnetic field of the exciting coil (281). In a first fixing failure diagnosis mode, a closed circuit including the first test coil (311) is formed, and the induced electromotive force in the direction cancelling the alternating-current magnetic field of the exciting coil (281) is generated in the first test coil (311) by the alternating-current magnetic field of the exciting coil (281).
