PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out processing to adjust an image forming apparatus after a unit or some of its parts are replaced simply at a low cost without requiring a user or a service man to carry out the processing.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus having an image carrier that carries images and charging means for charging the image carrier, where the image carrier and the charging means can be respectively replaced, the image forming apparatus including voltage application means for applying a voltage to the charging means, current detection means for detecting a current flowing in the image carrier when the voltage application means applies a voltage to the charging means, and control means for determining the presence/absence of replacement of the image carrier or the charging means on the basis of a current detected by the current detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
