Segregation according to size etc., of particles of a metal-containing pulverulent material in an air-tight bag is prevented by reducing the air-pressure within the bag to 'below atmospheric pressure by at least 0�2 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> before sealing. The method is particularly suited to mixed powders, e.g. containing iron and graphite. If the material being packaged contains iron, the reduced pressure minimizes rusting. The bag is preferably of plastics material. |
