<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a fixing temperature is decreased while maintaining a correlation between a fixing speed and an amount of attached toner of an image in an energy saving mode, and means is required for allowing a user to recognize a correlation among a printing speed, image quality, and power consumption, and allowing the user to select one of them for giving it priority over the others. <P>SOLUTION: An image processor, which controls the fixing temperature and fixing speed of a fixing device and controls an amount of attached toner, comprises: switching means for switching an operation mode to an energy saving mode for restricting power consumption compared to regular consumption power; setting means for setting, according to the switching of the energy saving mode, the fixing temperature of the fixing device to a temperature lower than the fixing temperature in a regular state defined in advance; determination means for determining a fixing speed and the maximum amount of attached toner by which fixing is possible at the fixing temperature set by the setting means; and correction means for correcting image data for image formation so that the amount of attached toner does not exceed the maximum amount of attached toner determined by the determination means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
