A method in a radio base station for establishing user equipment candidates for a wireless direct device to device connection is provided. The radio base station is comprised in a wireless communication network. The radio base station detects (204) that a first user equipment transmits data packets to a second Internet Protocol, IP, address via the radio base station, or receives data packets from the second IP address via the radio base station. The radio base station further detects that the second IP address is assigned to a second user equipment. The first user equipment and second user equipment are comprised in the wireless communication network. Based on these detections, the radio base station establishes (205) that the first user equipment and the second user equipment are candidates for a direct device to device connection between each other, based on the detecting.
