A free bending method is shown for bending a metal sheet (2), in particular a steel sheet, having a yield point > 500 MPa, in which method the metal sheet (2) bearing on two supports (3, 4) is loaded with a bending moment via a ram (5, 15) having a ram bottom (6). In order to avoid a roof formation (7) on the bent metal sheet (2), it is proposed that, during bending, the metal sheet (2) is line-loaded by the ram bottom (6) of the ram (5, 15) with a bending moment which is constant at least in certain regions. |
