The present invention provides an apparatus and a method for managing time-out data, the invention comprising: a storage unit for storing time-out data; a control unit for controlling the storage unit; and a data management unit for managing the time-out data stored in the storage unit. It is possible to access the time-out data managed in the storage unit solely through the data management unit and possible to access solely during a predetermined effective period for the time-out data and thereby, the time-out data for which the predetermined effective period has elapsed can be automatically deleted without an intervention by an administrator and security for the time-out data can be ensured.
