PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus capable of sharply displaying a still picture, that is photographed and recorded simultaneously, during motion picture photographing and preventing a photographing error of the motion picture during photographing. SOLUTION: A photographing apparatus comprises a fetching means for fetching a still image during moving image photographing, a display means for displaying thereon a moving image under photographing and the still image fetched by the fetching means, and a detection means for detecting a change in the moving image. Furthermore, a switching means which switches the display means to full screen moving image display in a case where any change in the moving image is detected by the detection means.
