<p>An airbag device is configured so that a cut end surface is not exposed at the outermost peripheral edge of a sewn end section where a gas discharge hole is formed. An airbag device is provided with an inflator and an airbag (1). The airbag (1) is formed in a bag-like shape by a sewn section (4) where the outer peripheral edges (2a, 3a) of first base fabric (2) and second base fabric (3) are sewn together. The sewing is made in such a manner that turned-back fabric (8) is positioned at a gas discharge hole (6) formed by providing a not-sewn portion in a part of the outer peripheral edges (2a, 3a). Due to the fact that a cut end surface is not exposed at the outermost peripheral edge of the sewn end section where a gas discharge hole is formed, even if the outermost peripheral edge of the sewn section comes into contact with a vehicle occupant when the airbag is expanded, the vehicle occupant is not injured.</p> |
