摘要 892,487. Electric control systems. BOSCH G.m.b.H., ROBERT. Sept. 1, 1958 [Sept. 18, 1957], No. 27925/58. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] Electric apparatus for controlling the quantity of fuel injected into the cylinders of an I.C. engine in accordance with the speed of the engine, the ambient temperature and pressure, and the temperature of the water in the cooling system, comprises two monostable transistor relaxation oscillators in cascade containing resistors sensitive to the various non-electric quantities, which determine the duration of the unstable condition of the oscillators during which time a valve in the fuel supply pipe to the cylinders is opened. As shown (Fig. 1) the first relaxation oscillator comprises two transistors T1, T2; T1 being normally non-conducting and T2 conducting. When switch S is closed by rotation of cam N driven by the distributer shaft 11 of the engine 10, the base potential of T1 is lowered causing T1 to conduct and block T2. This unstable condition reverts when the potential across condenser 58 is sufficiently reduced by discharging through parallel resistors 59, 60, the former having a value determined by the ambient temperature and pressure. The duration is also controlled by D.C. voltages across resistors 65, 66 connected to the base of T2. The former resistor is fed with part of the rectified voltage generated in winding W1 of a generator G driven by shaft 11, the slider of potentiometer 73 being mechanically linked to the throttle pedal F, thereby tapping off a smaller voltage at higher speeds; resistor 66 is fed with the rectified voltage generated in winding W2 of generator G. Thus the duration of the pulse in the relaxation oscillator is determined by the ambient temperature and pressure and by the engine speed. The second relaxation oscillator similarly comprises two transistors T3, T4, the latter being normally conducting. The negative pulses developed on the collector of T1 are fed to the base of transistor T3 to make it conduct and block T4, the duration of this unstable condition being determined by the discharge time of condenser 78, and the value of resistor 80 which is a negative temperature coefficient resistance, sensitive to the temperature of the engine cooling water. Hence the base of an output transistor T5 receives a pulse from the first oscillator which is extended by a pulse from the second oscillator when the engine is cold, which pulses produce collector current in T5 flowing through the coil 34 of valve 33 to open the valve and allow fuel to enter the engine cylinders for the duration of the pulses.
