Provided is a method with which a wheel-supporting roller bearing unit can be produced at low cost. During production of this wheel-supporting roller bearing unit (1): a cylindrical part (11) formed at one end of a hub ring (2) in an axial direction is inserted into an inner ring (3); a die (23) is pressed against a cylindrical-part (11) tip section which protrudes further towards a tip side in the axial direction than the inner ring (3), and rocking swaging is performed; and an end surface (3a) of the inner ring (3) in the axial direction is pressed down by a swaged part (12) formed by using swaging to outwardly extend the cylindrical-part (11) tip section in a radial direction. As a result, the inner ring (3) and the hub ring (2) are integrally fixed. Furthermore, during the aforementioned production, the rocking angle of the rocking swaging is set so as to be at least 15˚ but not more than 30˚. |
