PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device having high light extraction efficiency.SOLUTION: A light emitting device according to the present embodiment comprises: a semiconductor laser element 1 which emits laser beam having a peak wavelength within a range of 460 nm and under; a base substrate 2 in which a through hole 2a for transmitting laser beams from bottom to top is provided; a fluorescent member 3 provided so as to caulk the through hole 2a; and a filter 7 provided under the fluorescent member 3 and at a distance from a surface which includes a bottom edge of the through hole 2a, for reflecting fluorescent light from the fluorescent member. An inner face 2-1 of the base substrate, which defines the through hole 2a includes an inclined plane 2-1a inclining in a manner such that the through hole 2a broadens from the bottom toward the top. The inclined plane 2-1a includes an aluminum-containing reflection film 4. |
