PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a scale indication visually mechanically concretely showing a remaining amount of a long medium at a low cost.SOLUTION: A long medium comprises: a plurality of scales 11 mounted at the same interval on at least one of a side edge part 1a of the long medium 1; a plurality of first indications 12 given at the same interval to at least one of the side edge part 1a; and a plurality of second indications 13 given at an interval shorter than the interval of the first indications 12 to at least one of the side edge part 1a on a straight line different from a row of the first indications 12. First ratio of the interval of a plurality of the scales 11 to unit length of the long medium 1 is approximately the same as second ratio of difference between the interval of the first indications 12 and the interval of the second indications 13 to an amount of change in length of the long medium 1 shown by the difference. The second indications 13 mounted on a side of a terminal scales 11b gradually approach a start scales 11a toward a terminal of the long medium 1.
