PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transfer device capable of keeping a base material flat and preventing surface defects thereof when applying heat and pressure on a laminate comprising the base material and a recording medium laminated together to transfer an image on the recording medium onto the base material.SOLUTION: An image transfer device comprises: a first roller pair which applies heat and pressure on a laminated comprising a base material and a film with an image recorded on a surface thereof laminated together while conveying the same; and a plurality of second roller pairs which are under heat and pressure and are arrayed on the downstream side of the first roller pair in a conveying direction of the laminate to cool the laminate while conveying. Surface temperature of the arrayed plurality of second roller pairs is lowered in steps until temperature of the laminate reaches a glass transition temperature thereof or less. |
