PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parallel packet processing apparatus for efficiently performing parallel processing of protocol processing of a plurality of continuously inputted packets.SOLUTION: The parallel packet processing apparatus includes: parallel processing parts which respectively input receiving packets, execute header analysis whose processing time is fixed and payload processing whose processing time is variable in accordance with a payload length and output respective results; a distribution part for distributing receiving packets to any one of parallel processing parts of idle states; a storage part for storing connection information related to connection of the receiving packets; a sequential processing part for receiving header analysis results and payload processing results respectively from the parallel processing parts, executing connection processing and updating the connection information; and a data writing control part for controlling writing of receiving packet data by an instruction from the sequential processing part.
