PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrier device which can clean the guide surface of tension imparting means for imparting tension, or back tension, to a sheet and prevent occurrence of flaws and stains on the surface of the sheet due to stuck matter on the guide surface and an image formation apparatus.SOLUTION: A belt-like wiping member 340 is brought into contact, along the short direction, with the guide surface of a sheet guide 310 of a back tension imparting device which adsorbs a sheet to be carried and imparts back tension. The feed shaft 332 supporting the wiping member 340 is rotated by a motor 342 to move the wiping member 340 along the feed shaft 332 so that the wiping member 340 is moved in the longitudinal direction while bringing the wiping member 340 in sliding contact with the guide surface of the sheet guide 310. The movement of the wiping member 340 removes paper powder stuck to the guide surface and stuck matter peeled from the coat layer of the surface of the sheet. |
