PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an extract of a Xanthium strumarium leaf, and its application to a cigarette.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing an extract of a Xanthium strumarium leaf and its application to a cigarette, in which, regarding the leaf or powder of Xanthium strumarium, using water extraction or alcohol extraction at different concentrations, the extract of a Xanthium strumarium leaf is weighed based on the ratio of 0.01 to 8% of the weight of the pipe tobacco and is extracted, the solution is uniformly sprayed on the pipe tobacco, and by the sprayed pipe tobacco, a cigarette is made. According to understanding from the result of an evaluation analysis result of a test in which the extract of a Xanthium strumarium leaf is added to the cigarette, the extract of a Xanthium strumarium leaf is matched with the flavors of the cigarette, is sufficiently enough in smoke, makes the hierarchy layer feeling of the smell satisfactory by adding a part of flavor, slightly improves the quality of the flavor, has an endlessly continuous feeling and drifts before the generation of smoke.
