An electronic reading apparatus using a mechanical gas meter is disclosed. The present invention comprises a reflection plate on a unit representing difference of numerical values; a first and a second receiving sensor; and a control unit, thereby detecting signals of the first and the second receiving sensor depending on the rotation of the reflection plate and electrically measuring the usage of the gas meter. As a user can use the invention by installing an electronic reading apparatus of a simple structure on a conventional mechanical gas meter, it is possible to accurately measure the amount of gas, reduce power consumption, and remotely check gas usage.
