PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus configured to provide a fixation temperature control to reduce temperature fluctuation generated at the side end portion of a fixing member due to the relative positional change between the fixing member and a paper, then, provide an image of high quality, free from uneven glossiness and color irregularity over a long period of time, and have improved durability of the fixing member. SOLUTION: There is provided the image forming apparatus which is capable of reducing the temperature fluctuation at the end portion of the fixing member by correcting a reference temperature for maintaining the temperature of the fixing member in accordance with the displacement amount of the fixing member or the paper by a displacement means, thereby stably providing the image of high quality, and which has the improved durability of the fixing member.
