<p>1282967 Spring mechanisms SOLID STATE TECHNOLOGY Inc 20 Oct 1970 [30 Oct 1969 3 April 1970] 49797/70 Heading F2S [Also in Division G4] A signalling device comprises an enclosure containing a transmitter 230 powered by an electromechanical generator 232 driven by a spring 234 and having a manually operable lever 214 normally overlying a vertical wall of the enclosure but capable of being movable to the position shown so as to wind the spring 234. In its normal vertical position, lever 234 covers four push buttons 226 respectively labelled FIRE, POLICE, DOCTOR, AND TOW. After the spring 234 has been wound by pulling lever 214 to the position shown, the appropriate one of push button 226 may be depressed so as to close a respective switch 228 and select one of four different (unspecified) mode of operation of a radio transmitter 230. Generator 232 is held immobile by a stop lever (314, Figs. 12-14, not shown) during winding. Upon release, lever 214 is returned to its vertical position by a spring (not shown) after which the generator 232 is driven for a period of 3-20 seconds to energize the preselected mode of operation cf transmitter 230. At the end of the transmitting period, the push button 226 is released by a lever 322 being engaged by a pin on the drive gear 236. The main spring 234 may be of the type known under the trade mark Negator. Figs. 9-14 (not shown) relate to details of the mechanism. Figs. 1-6 (not shown) relate to a further embodiment having a different arrangement of push buttons and mechanism.</p> |
