The present invention relates to a method for providing a communication service through a destination network selected by a caller and an apparatus for the same. According to the present invention, the method for providing a communication service through a destination network selected by a caller in an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) communicating through multiple heterogeneous access networks comprises: a request reception step for receiving a request for a communication service from a calling terminal to a receiving terminal; a network identification step for identifying multiple heterogeneous access networks to which the receiving terminal is being connected; a list transmission step for transmitting a list of the identified heterogeneous access networks to the calling terminal; a receiving network setup step for receiving, from the calling terminal, the selection of one access network recorded in the list of the heterogeneous access networks and setting the selected access network to a destination network for communication service; and a session formation step for forming a session with the receiving terminal via the set destination network.
